- quell2911Very nice armchairs, great advice (the saleswoman had a lot of patience and knew her stuff very well) and fair prices. We were completely satisfied!
- Georg RohrmoserFriendly, competent advice. But be careful! Read the small print on the order, especially the terms and conditions. Delivery only takes place to the edge of the sidewalk! This is particularly unpleasant when, for example, B. is a dining table weighing more than 100 kg. Unfortunately, this bad habit is increasing rapidly, and more and more companies no longer offer delivery of heavy furniture to the apartment, even for an additional charge! People think that these savings will make them more competitive and they just annoy customers.
- Sebastian KerekesBeautiful products, friendly advice. Delivery time after the Christmas holidays was longer than previously announced, but the employees then tried to find a solution and then implemented an earlier delivery - very pleasing! Delivery to and assembly in the apartment. Special requests for delivery were also taken into account quickly and completely. Highly recommended!
- Nizam Akcay👍 About our company We manually bend furniture in a place where this unique technology has been used since 1861. In addition, we continue to develop the unique properties of this technology and combine them with the contemporary ideas of designers. Our tables and chairs combine quality with an innovative design language and are a legacy of the place that has learned to understand wood over generations. History of SOUND In 1861, the bentwood furniture factory, now the oldest factory of its kind, began operating in Bystritz am Hostein. Its founder, Michael Thonet, who gave it its name, did not choose this location by chance. It was surrounded by beech forests, which not only provided sufficient material for the manufacturing processes, but also saved significant costs for transport or labor. A previously unusual system of industrial work organization, in which one worker concentrated on one work activity at a time, and the unique technology were other factors that contributed to the reduction in the price of chairs from Bystritz and their expansion throughout the world. Just ten years after it was founded, 300,000 pieces of bentwood furniture were manufactured here every day, and in 1912 even 445,000 pieces were manufactured here, with almost 2,000 workers taking care of them. And the Thonet family took exemplary care of their employees. In Bystritz, technical schools for furniture processing, kindergartens and, for example, a factory chapel were founded. The family supported the development of the railway, built workers' houses and even a casino. After the First World War, which was negatively reflected in the difficult situation in industry, the factory was merged with the Kohn-Mundus stock corporation in 1924 and the name was changed to THONET-MUNDUS. The resulting international company functioned until 1940. Until the end of the Second World War, it was run by an administrator who was appointed by the Reich Protector. By order of the Ministry of Industry dated March 7, 1946, it became the national company THONET, which was subsequently renamed TON in 1953 (in Czech this is the abbreviation of the words factory for bentwood furniture). After the political situation in what was then Czechoslovakia changed in 1989, the organizational structure was changed to a state-owned company and since 1994 TON has been functioning as a stock corporation.
