I make it a habit to locate Vegan restaurants when traveling for work. I landed at San Antonio from Detroit just in time for lunch. Harry greeted me with a big smile and made me feel welcome. The portions are ample and I wondered if I could finish it all (which I did). The orange chick'n with broccoli was delicious, but the beans were killer. Seriously you could order three portions and make a delicious meal. When it came time for dessert, they were out of cookies, and they whipped up a specialty vegan parfait for me. IT WAS SO RICH! Delicious and made on the spot. This is a great spot for non meat eaters and meat eaters alike. I love finding places like Binge Kitchen in out of the way places and I will definitely be back on my next trip to San Antonio!

First visit, cute aesthetic, staff was very kind but I was disappointed as they were out of spinach dip, okra & potato salad + had no desserts available. (Was preparing a lemon cake, but was not ready.) I arrived before 3:30 on a Thursday. Now, the food was cool. The plate was $20. Nothing too crazy though. Expected the southern fried chickn to be patty-like rather than tenders. Baked beans were good.

Being from California I've heard so much about Binge Kitchen and couldn't end our trip without stopping by. First let me say, the customer service was AMAZING!! We felt genuinely welcomed by every employee we engaged with( Southern Hospitality for sure). After a long debate lol we decided upon the Chikn Sliders and added sides. The sliders were absolutely delicious and filling, I had the buffalo and gold rush sliders and let me tell you.. WHATEVER IS IN THAT GOLD RUSH SAUCE IS INSANE!! The flavor is definitely magical, I see why the sauce is top secret. I wish the buffalo had more of a buffalo punch but it was still great. I did sample the honey bbq and hot honey but they kind of tasted the same, I couldn't really tell the difference but both were very good. The yams were seasoned to perfection and the potato salad was THEE BEST I've had since my vegan journey began years ago.. an absolute fav for sure!!. We dined in and it was comfy and relaxing, I loved the natural light and the 70's music playing made it even more enjoyable. There's nothing like great food, great customer service, great music and great convo..Binge Kitchen did not disappoint. If you're in the mood for some amazing soul food and other classic dishes, you have to swing by Binge Kitchen in San Antonio!! and may your taste buds be blessed!

My friend was convinced this place was closed. We tried swinging by one day when it was supposed to be open - it wasn't. I tried calling another day when it was supposed to be open - voice mailbox was full. But I tried calling again another day and learned it is actually still in business, so I was able to go and try it out after all. This is a vegan restaurant. The menu is quite unclear about that - it can look like a conventional restaurant with meat and dairy, but it is fully vegan. There are no waitstaff; you order at the counter. The staff seems quite busy, and forgot to bring out drink refills and then condiments we asked for. Even if you are there in person, it may be preferable to order online to reduce the load on the staff. The food isn't bad. Unfortunately, it's all quite unhealthy, so not a good place to go if you're looking for lighter fare. But then, it is called "Binge." The dishes here are on the pricey side, even compared to other vegan restaurants in San Antonio - especially given that the it's structured more like a fast food restaurant than a sit-down restaurant with waitstaff. The "loaded green tomatoes" are fried green tomatoes with house made ranch dressing on top, plus soft (not crispy) vegan bacon and some other toppings. Not bad. I also had the "smothered chick'n and gravy". The "chick'n" and gravy wasn't bad. The mound of white rice underneath seemed just bland and pointless, but maybe others enjoy it. I got three sides with my meal. I tried the mashed potatoes (a slightly dry ball - not the best mashed potatoes I've ever had), fried okra (good), coleslaw (surprisingly good).

There is nothing better than finding a restaurant that you did not know existed, and the food is great! This is what happened with Binge Kitchen. The building is clean and well maintained. We were greeted with a smile and welcome like we were coming home. The menu is posted on the wall, which is a cool little touch. We started out with the fried green BLT tomatoes, and yes, it tasted just like a BLT. We got smothered chicken and smothered oxtail. They came on a bed of rice, and you get a choice of three sides. My only head scratcher was the mac and cheese. It was not what I was expecting, not bad but different. The oxtail was good and tender. The food was good and flavourful. I will definitely be going back!
