- Haylen TorresThis place was BEYOND my expectations. I live in Austin but was in town for the day and craving some yummy Mexican food. Me and my friend ordered the picadillo nachos, al pastor tacos and the chicken flautas and I can’t even pick which one was my favorite. The portions are generous and you end up feeling like you’re floating on air after your meal. Just heavenly. The salsas are also superb. I really can’t rave about this enough. As a Latina, this is easily one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve had and I’m so glad it’s plant-based and full of insane flavors. Also, the service is spectacular and everyone is so kind!
- Brian SerratoAny negative ideas you have about vegetarian Mexican food, throw them out. This place will make you question if it's really vegetarian! Beautiful atmosphere, super helpful and patient hosts, but out of this world food. I've had soup, enchiladas, tacos, nachos and they've all been better than anything I've had at a "normal" Mexican restaurant. Overall, this place is something not to cross off just because you're scared or biased by the vegetables instead of meat. Let your fears go, order the bbq tacos, try the salsa and I guarantee you won't leave with an empty stomach.
- Christopher SanchezThis was a really good restaurant. Traditional atmosphere, friendly staff, pricey as vegan food usual is, but the portions were more than I was expecting :) I wanted to ask for the full nachos expecting not enough, but lucky we purchased half. I even questioned if whether our waitress heard half and gave us the full, but no, the half was enough. We wouldn't have been able to eat our plates if I purchased the full. Thanx for excepting us in even half an hour before closing. I'm looking forward to going back again. 1/6/23 we haven't been in a minute but had some time today, and all I had to do was mention Viva Vegeria to my girl as we thought about something to do with our free afternoon and once I said the name we were on the way haha The parking lot was full, and they were busy, but everything still out easily like any other day. I'm happy we dropped by :)
- Annemarie SimmonsWe tried Viva Vegeria while visiting San Antonio for the day, and we will definitely be back! The chicharron tacos & enchiladas verdes were amazing, great flavors & textures, and the folks running the restaurant were so sweet too! I'm sad this place isn't in Austin, there's almost no vegan tex-mex options at home lol. Highly recommend checking them out!!
- Genesis GuajardoThe food and atmosphere is amazing! sitting outside on a nice day eating at viva is my fav thing to do! Hugo does everything to make someone feel comfortable and he goes above and beyond to make the experience so much better. Thank you Hugo! :-))
