- Ian BlackReally nice vegan cafe in Leith. Super friendly with awesome vegan food and good coffee! The pancakes and french toast were excellent. Thank you!
- Victoria WaddellFirst time here. An intends coffee turned into food. Triple expression X2-intense & smooth with a tiny bit bite. Beautifully presented Rose latte with a heart shaped spoon ❤️. Chose soya. It could have been hotter but was delicious both warm & cool. Will opt in for the double expression add on next time. Apple & pear croissant-crisp, flaky-how is this without dairy butter?! Super yummy soft fruits with seasoning you can properly taste! Not just a hint, it was a “hello! I’m here!” & super moorish. Humous platter. A bit underwhelming but worth the price. The warm wrap quickly went cold & tough (as with GF) but maybe toasted strips would work better. Putting in a Sid salad & a potato cake, some sun dried Tom’s would liven this up but the humous!! Hands down best I have had from all my travels. Smooth, thick, such a unique flavour & a massive serving! *chefs kiss 😘”. This big serving did make the small amount of yummy fermented beetroot seem meagre though. Was very pleased that humous can be bought in tubs 😍 Left with 2 HUGE choccie pumpkin cookies & kombucha from Fife. Cookies are crisp & soft & have bold aromas of nutmeg & Christmas. Nothing was shy on flavour here. Total was around £34 Mid age-elderly clientele. Lady was enthusiastic with every customer & eager to explain flavours & local producers. Gentle cafe music. Variety of plants & natural toiletry products on sale. Wheelchair accessible if a table is moved. Accessible toilet.
- Andy OOne of my favourite places on the city I go to. I take my friends and family here all the time, whether or not they are vegan. Every single time they gush about the quality of the food and coffee. I haven't had one bad thing on the menu, but I do have to recommend their potato pancakes and their soup & sandwiches. Another nice touch is they usually have local Leith events or performers flyers and magazines around to help you keep up-to-date with what is going on in the neighborhood. Staff is always very nice and attentive. I honestly can't think of a bad thing about Sly Fox. Highly recommend!
- Georgia GordonI was recently visiting Scotland from New Zealand and happened to be staying next door. I initially popped in one morning for a coffee on the go and was so impressed with the customer service, atmosphere of the place, and deliciousness of the coffee (and I don’t usually go for oat coffee) that I decided I needed to go back for food. A few weeks later I did and the vegan breakfast was amazing. Delicious and such a good, large portion with a variety of items. Again, coffee was delicious too and such an enjoyable moment having just finishing travelling Europe and experiencing many not so great coffees. Thank you so much and hope to return again one day ❤️
- Harriette BaxterI moved to the area a month ago, and Sly Fox has now become my regular spot thanks to fantastic coffee and friendly, engaged service. However, this afternoon I went in for a coffee, and was making small talk with the barista as I often do now, and a chef (possibly a manager?) started giving them a disciplinary talking to whilst they were making my coffee about speaking to me and how that “wasn’t their job”. At the very least I overheard this all without meaning to (potentially others in the cafe too - which I feel is unprofessional), and it has made me feel extremely uncomfortable about how the staff are treated… Felt like I was getting a telling off myself and now don’t want to go back out of awkwardness… Such a shame as I had really taken to this spot especially because of this particular barista, their friendliness and their top tier service/coffee skills.
