Best vegetarian Szechuan food I've ever had! The dry pepper tofu was a good balance of spice, and the Dan Dan noodles were really flavorful as well.

I literally LOVE this place. It’s pretty small at this particular location in the East Village, and for those who like a little room, it could feel cramped. But I honestly cannot even care about my arm space when the food is THIS damn good. My ultimate favorites are the wonton in chili oil. I can eat that every day for dinner. I’ve tried at-least five different dishes on the menu, and although I have my favorites, I’m obsessed with the food at large. I wish I’ve taken more photos, but take my word for it. This place gets packed so be sure to make a reservation if you’re planning to go for dinner time. Truly one of my favorite vegan restaurants in NYC.

I like @spicymoonnyc so much that I’ve been to all their locations multiple times! Don’t expect typical Sichuan cuisine here, but I think of it more as fancier and more authentic American Chinese food - and full vegan, which is awesome! Their mapo tofu has become my go to order. Spicy and smooth, perfect with rice. Another good find this round is the cold sesame noodles. I found it fairly authentic and very delicious!

Full moon rising! Totally delicious mapo tofu and den den mein. I really enjoyed the peanutty vibes of the den den mein and the mouth numbing qualities of the soft mapo tofu. Hot but definitely not too challenging. Upon polishing off the dishes my insides felt like I’d been sat in a spice sauna, perfect for a rainy grey day in the East Village. The restaurant itself is a cosy bijou nook bathed in pink ambient light and adorned with gashapon style nik naks. Hip without pretension, hot without perspiration. Recommended.

We came here for dinner, and had such a good time! The food came very quickly and everything was fresh and delicious. We especially enjoyed the cucumbers with chili oil and the scallion pancakes! Would happily come here again.
