- Joanna DeanWas able to try Soulshine at the Vegfest and was blown away by their delicious baked goods and an iced ube matcha. Yesterday I was finally able to visit their location. The cafe is tucked in a corner and although it's a small spot they make good use of the space and offer a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. I had the fall special Monte Cristo and a hot pumpkin spice latte that was even topped with whipped cream. I was served my drink right away. Food took a little longer but that is understandable they have a small kitchen and a small staff so I didn't mind the wait. I was able to sit on the patio and enjoy the weather with my latte while I waited. The food was worth that wait. The seitan was amazing and scarily similar to “real meat.” On my way out I had to grab some baked goods for my family or they wouldn't have forgiven me. It's my first visit but it's definitely not my last.
- Drew BWhat an incredible little gem of a spot! Absolutely loved everything about it. Great staff, great food and great atmosphere. Super cute inside and wish I had a place like this back home. But will definitely be on the return list anytime I'm in Indy!
- Veva YoungI guess I feel dumb. I came here on a whim and realized Ezra’s was no longer (I’m not in Broadripple often), and was excited to see it was still a vegan cafe! Gal at the counter was nice…. She mentioned the breakfast burrito was popular, but the menu said sausage, egg, etc, all of which I don’t eat, so I felt silly and confused and just ordered the tofu scramble as that looked to be the only egg and meat-free option. My matcha is superb, but the tofu scramble is just bad. I make it all the time at home… it’s not even scrambled? Idk. I see now the menu says “all vegan” at the top, but the wordage was misleading. Online it does specify (Just Egg, plant-based sausage, etc), but the menu uses words like buttermilk and eggs. A good lesson for me to do research before I just step into a place, but as I told them it was my first time there, a little info wouldn’t have hurt.
- Brandon SignorinoAbsolutely love this place! The entire menu is vegan and they have options that are certain to please any appetite - I am not vegan myself, but the food here is wonderful. I had the biscuits & gravy along with a side of the loaded mac & cheese - both were flavorful, comforting, and tasty. The range of beverage options is impressive... they have all the flavors of Liquid Death, a coffee menu, iced tea, and craft sodas. Alongside the great menu, the vibe both inside and outside is cool - very welcoming. I will definitely be back!
- J KentGreat Food! Awesome atmosphere with beautiful art and photos, books, and tunes. Excited Indy is finally expanding in the vegan scene. Must try: Fresh cinnamon roll Frittata Tofu Scramble Hangover Burger Brought some home to share with parents and they couldn’t tell it was vegan. Just good! My nieces and nephew LOVE the cake pops. Will be back every time I return to visit Indy, hands down.
