Nutritious food for everyone
Pressed was first set up back in 2010 when a group of three friends with a shared love of travel came together around a single vision – to make nutrient-rich, plant-based food accessible to everyone. Their belief is founded on the notion that wellness and vitality stems from the food we eat. With an awareness that it can often be hard for people to get hold of high-quality produce, they opened their first juicery in Brentwood, Los Angeles, thus taking the first step on their mission to boost the health and wellbeing of as many people as they can.
Starting small
The company’s first LA location was tiny. At just 25 square feet, it was more of a cupboard than a store, but it allowed Pressed (back then known as Pressed Juicery) to begin delivering the message of healthy plant-based living. From here, they served flavourful cold-pressed juices packed full of vitamin-rich ingredients to help people bring a little health into their day. Not long after this, they set up a juice truck at a second location in Malibu, and the concept began to gain momentum.
Strong values
Today, Pressed has grown and expanded across the United States, with dozens of stores and a menu that has extended beyond its initial cold-pressed juices. Despite this success, the company remains dedicated to four core values. The first is to inspire growth by giving long-term support and encouraging gradual change rather than offering a quick fix that will only improve things in the short term. The second is to empower people through sharing knowledge about health and wellbeing so that people can make the best choices for themselves. The third is to work for their customers and partners by drawing attention to the people and organisations that they believe in and by celebrating uniqueness and diversity. The final one is to be completely transparent in all that they do so no one is left wondering about any of their products or practices.
A plant-based philosophy
In addition to this, the people at Pressed have strong feelings about how they make their range of signature cold-pressed juices, bowls and snacks. Ingredients are carefully sourced so as to be the most flavourful and nutritious options for each season, and everything is blended together in precise mixes to create food that tantalises the taste buds but is also highly beneficial for health. On top of this, there are no added sugars or preservatives in any of their products, and everything is as fresh as it can possibly be.
A powerful boost of vitamins
A range of delicious foods are served at Pressed, but their trademark is their wide selection of cold-pressed juices. They can be bought as individual bottles for a quick infusion of health or as packs to support your daily routine. There are larger bottles like the Roots 3, which has a blend of sweet, spicy goodness that combines apple, lemon, ginger and beetroot, and smaller drinks such as the Vitality Shot with Turmeric, whose main ingredient is bolstered by refreshing coconut water and lemon juice, while a dash of black pepper aids proper absorption of all the nutrition held within the diminutive drink. Along with this, some locations offer other vegan treats, including smooth soft-serve ice cream, smoothie bowls packed with plant-based power, wholesome protein bars, and other health-boosting snacks.
Committed to sustainability
As well as providing this fantastic array of tasty food, Pressed are also committed to supporting the wellbeing of the planet. They do this in a variety of ways, and at all stages of their process. Ingredients are sourced fresh so that they don’t go to waste, the pulp left after pressing becomes animal feed and anything that is leftover at the end of the day is donated to local food charities. In addition to this zero waste approach, they have taken steps to minimise the impact of their packaging. Each juice bottle incorporates 25% recycled plastic, every spoon is made of a biodegradable material that breaks down in under 5 years and all of their boxes are fully recyclable. They have also forged powerful partnerships with other environment-conscious companies such as Oak + Fort, who transform some of their bottles into works of art, and For Days, who allow customers to exchange used clothing for Pressed juices.
Good quality food accessible to all
As more and more Pressed stores are set up across the country, the brand continues on its journey towards making healthy food available to all. From Massachusetts to Hawaii, from Florida to Washington, bricks-and-mortar stores now exist in tens of different towns and cities, providing convenient vegan options for many. And if you aren’t lucky enough to be close to one of these, they deliver online countrywide. Since 2010, the three friends who started Pressed have made huge progress on their mission, but this is a lifelong journey, and they won’t stop until they have given everyone access to a healthier lifestyle.

- Jiahui JiangI ordered a pickup through classpass but the staff was away for a bathroom break. I waited for half an hour but they were still not back :( I wasn’t able to cancel the order either. There was a short line of people waiting for pickup and apparently this happens at this location quite a lot. Don’t try to order ahead here!
- Hyun Ju Jang(12/06/23) I just got the chocolate protein smoothie and realized that the expiration date of the drink has passed. The staff tried to exchange the item, but apparently all of them in the fridge were in the same condition, and he had to open a new box. I want to believe that they didn't intentionally leave the expired items in stock, but the manager or staff members definitely need to check them often and carefully since most customers for this particular place would just grab it and go. The smoothie is good - I'm a long-time vip member - but I definitely suggest checking on the expiration date before you leave!
- Jasmine Nouravi (On Instagram: badgal_eats)Really delicious juices and shots. The wellness shots are my absolute favorite for when I’m feeling under the weather. Sometimes they do great deals like 3 juices for 15 or 4 for 20 which is prime time to stock up.
- Tammy LiuDelicious healthy drinks, particularly on a hot day. Located in the Turnstyle underground market, convenient! Just pricy!
- Bella “BooBoo” DeZONA healthy alternative for real juices. Clean and organized. Friendly staffs too.
